Educational Outreach Program
Idaho Dance Theatre has developed a number of programs specifically designed for all ages.
K-6 Program
A special 45 minute interactive program focused on dance is created a new each year. The program is written specifically to be performed in gyms and multi purpose rooms for the young student grades 1 through 6.
The program features classroom materials developed to assist the teacher in pre-performance and post performance discussions of dance. The class materials are available both in English and Spanish. Performed by six company dancers this program is in its ninth year. It has been received by teachers and students with joy as the best of programs available in the state of Idaho.
Grades 7-12, College
Lecture Demonstrations. These feature instruction about the history and style of contemporary modern dance. The lecture is supported by dance demonstrations of all styles. Open to question session throughout and following the presentation. Usually performed by 3 to 4 dancers.
All ages
Artist in Residence Program
We provide one to three dancers to work directly in classrooms with students and teachers. Offered in 45 minute sessions.
All Ages
Master Classes & Workshops
We offer classes in a variety of different disciplines. The classes are taught by dancers and artistic directors.
Age 14-30
At Risk Educational Programs
Programs designed to involve at risk persons in our programs. We provide transportation, free tickets, some internships, mentoring in self-esteem reclamation and other efforts to improve the lives of at risk individuals.
