North Idaho Tour Plans
Boise, ID...The Idaho Dance Theatre (IDT), Idaho's premiere professional contemporary dance company has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA).
The grant, awarded in the category "Access to Artistic Excellence," will support a tour to Northern Idaho for the company to perform in May 2008.
Since much of Idaho is considered underserved and rural, this tour is an opportunity to introduce contemporary dance to parts of the state that might never otherwise be able to see a professional dance performance.
The company will depart Boise on May 9 and perform in the following communities:
- Friday, May 9 – McCall, ID Main-Stage show at the McCall-Donnelley High School – 7:30 pm
• Saturday, May 10 – Grangeville, ID Main-Stage show at Grangeville High School at 7:30 pm
• Monday, May 12 – Lapwai, ID Repertory Show at Lapwai High School followed by an Elementary School Show at Lapwai Elementary
• Tuesday, May 13 – Moscow, ID Main-Stage show at the Hartung Theatre (University of Idaho) at 7:30 pm
• Wednesday, May 14 – Potlatch, ID Repertory Show at Potlatch High School followed by an Elementary School Show at Potlatch Elementary
• Thursday, May 15 – Elementary School Show at Southside Elementary School - Cocolalla, Idaho followed by Elementary School Show at Kootenia Elemen
• Friday, May 16 – Post Falls, ID Main-Stage show at the Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center at the Old Church at 7:30 pm
• Saturday, May 17 – Coeur D’Alene, ID – Main-Stage Show at Woodland Middle School in Coeur D’Alene, ID at 7:30pm
• Monday, May 19 – Coeur D’Alene, ID – Elementary School shows at Borah Elementary in Coeur D’Alene and Winton Elementary in Coeur D’Alene.
• Tuesday, May 20 – Lakeside Elementary School show in Worley, ID on Coeur D’Alene Indian Reservation
